PRIVACY
What happens to your data.
Short version: your answers stay on your device, nothing is sold, and there are no ads or tracking cookies. Here is the whole picture.

Who we are
Mapmybrain is a free puzzle game made by the Mapmybrain Team in India. For privacy questions and complaints, write to privacy@mapmybrain.app.
What stays on your device
Your puzzle answers, questionnaire answers, timings and anything you try in a Learn room stay in the browser tab you are using. They are never sent to us, and they clear when you reload.
If you are an adult and press Save on this browser, your browser keeps a summary: your nickname and age range, your levels, bests and round counts, the puzzles you have met and which recent ones you got right or wrong (a puzzle left unanswered counts as wrong; on a two-choice puzzle, right or wrong is the same as which one you picked), your badges, your five trait scores and archetype, your play-style line, and the Learn entries and puzzle stories you mark. It never keeps your questionnaire answers or your timings. This summary lives only in your browser. We cannot see it, and anyone using the same browser can open it.
If you press the Light or Dark switch on Home, your browser remembers that one choice.
You can download a copy of your saved summary or delete it in My details & data. Clearing this site’s data in your browser also removes it.
What reaches us
Visit statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It records the page, the site you came from, your browser and device type, your country and how fast the page loaded. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not build a profile of you. Visits from the European Union are not counted at all.
Error notes. If a page breaks, your browser sends us a short note so we can fix it: the error message, where in our code it happened, the page address and your browser’s description (its name, version and operating system). Notes are built to leave out your answers, your nickname and anything you type. They are deleted automatically within 7 days.
Emails. If you write to us, we get your email address and your message and use them only to reply. Cloudflare forwards them to our email provider. We delete emails once they are no longer needed, or sooner if you ask.
Why. We use this information only to run the site, keep it safe and make it better, and to answer you. Where European or UK law applies, our legal basis is our legitimate interest in doing exactly that.
Who helps us run the site
Cloudflare hosts Mapmybrain. Like any web host, it handles your IP address and basic request details to deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks. Error notes don’t include your IP address, and any request details Cloudflare’s logs keep alongside them are deleted within 7 days too. Cloudflare runs a worldwide network, so this information may be handled outside India.
The fonts, the brain model and the rest of the site come from our own address. Our main font comes in parts, by alphabet. A nickname with Greek, Cyrillic or less common Latin letters makes your browser fetch that part from us: the request says which alphabet, never the name. The one outside script is Cloudflare’s visit counter, described above. No advertising, social media or tracking companies load anything on Mapmybrain.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell your data, don’t share it for advertising and don’t use it to decide anything about you. Levels describe how you did on these puzzles. How to read your results
Under 18
Anyone can play. If you say you are under 18, or would rather not say, nothing about you is saved, not even on your own device, and the personality questionnaire is not offered. The only thing your browser remembers is the Light or Dark choice, if you press it. Visit statistics and error notes still work as described above for every visitor. Parents can write to privacy@mapmybrain.app about their child’s information.
Cookies and browser storage
Mapmybrain sets no cookies. It saves two things in your browser’s storage, and only after you press a button: your Light or Dark choice, and your saved summary if you choose to save. Neither expires on its own. Deleting your saved summary in My details & data removes both; if you never saved, clearing this site’s data in your browser removes your Light or Dark choice. Cloudflare may set a short-lived security cookie to tell people apart from harmful bots. It keeps the site safe and is not used for tracking.
Your choices and rights
Your answers and saved summary stay in your browser, so you control them directly: save, download or delete them in My details & data. You can block the visit counter with any content blocker, and the game still works.
You can also ask us to show, correct or delete any information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Write to privacy@mapmybrain.app. We reply as soon as we can, normally within one month. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Changes
If we change what we collect, we will update this page and its date first. Anything new that would leave your device, such as an account, will always be your choice to switch on.
